More essential workers across grocery stores in Brampton have recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Multiple cases have been reported through the Loblaws case-tracker as of Jan. 18, which lists every positive staff case at Loblaws-owned stores including Fortinos, Shoppers Drug Mart and No Frills.
The latest case has been reported at the 35 Worthington Avenue Fortinos in Brampton.
Loblaws said the employee last worked on Jan. 10 and management was notified on Jan. 18.
The second case has also been reported at a Brampton Fortinos. One staff member at the 60 Quarry Edge Drive store also tested positive.
The sick employee last worked on Jan. 15 and Loblaws was notified on Jan. 17.
The next two cases have been reported at the Real Canadian Superstore on 85 Steeles Avenue.
Loblaws confirmed a pair of staffers both last worked on Jan. 9 and management was notified on Jan. 16.
The fifth employee case has been reported at Spataro’s No Frills, on 8990 Chiguacousy Road.
The affected employee last worked on Jan. 11 and Loblaws was also notified on the 16th.
The last confirmed case has been listed through Sobey’s case-tracker.
According to the tracker, one positive employee case has been reported at the FreshCo on 10615 Bramalea Road.
Sobeys said the sick employee last worked on Jan. 15 and management was notified on the 17th.
As of Jan. 18, more than 31,000 residents in Brampton have tested positive for the virus, since the beginning of March 2020, as reported by Peel Public Health.
