A worldwide vaccination campaign against the coronavirus is in full swing. In Punjab too, every person above the age of 45 years is being vaccinated on the instructions of the Government of India. While this vaccination is being given full support by educated and intelligent people, but under the blind influence of ignorance, some people are creating superstitions and misconceptions about this vaccination. On such an occasion, Kartar Kaur, a 105-year-old lady from Moga, carried the flag to create awareness among the people, where she and her family have been vaccinated.
Although Mata Kartar Kaur belongs to village Bhinder Khurd, she is now living with her son Harpinder Singh in Moga. She along with her family got vaccinated in a camp in Ward No. 3. The camp was organized under the leadership of his grandson and former councillor Manjit Singh Mann. More than 188 people were vaccinated in the camp. At present Mr Manjit Singh Mann’s wife, Amanpreet Kaur Mann is the Councilor of Ward No.3.
The family informed that Mata Kartar Kaur has been vaccinated on the strength of her will and determination. He was not pressured by anyone. Mata Kartar Kaur thinks that vaccination is mandatory to prevent this disease. Mata Kartar Kaur also said that even if it was not the turn of some people to get vaccinated, they should follow the instructions of the government and the health department. She said she did not have a fever or any other problem after being vaccinated. She said that a healthy person has no fear of any kind of problem.
Praising the spirit of Mata Kartar Kaur, Deputy Commissioner Mr Sandeep Hans appealed to the people above the age of 45 years to get rid of all illusions and get themselves and their families vaccinated. He said that this vaccination was being carried out in Civil Hospital Moga, all CHCs, 91 Health Wellness Centers. Apart from this special camps are also being organized in different areas. Of which people should take huge advantage.
