11 officers honoured with CM’s Police Medals on R-Day

SAS NAGAR (MOHALI), JANUARY 26:

Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday honoured 11 state police officers with the Chief Minister’s Police Medals in recognition of their outstanding performance and discharge of duty with utmost sincerity, dedication and commitment. As many as 43 prominent personalities were also honoured for their exemplary services in different fields.

On the occasion of the 71st Republic Day, the Chief Minister also paid glowing tributes to Major Harminder Pal Singh, Shaurya Chakra by placing a wreath in the memory of the son of the soil who displayed inspiring leadership, exceptional courage and unparalleled bravery while fighting the militants in J&K and made supreme sacrifice in the highest traditions of the Army.

Meanwhile, Captain Amarinder Singh also honoured SP Headquarter Ropar Jagjit Singh, ACP Industrial Area, Ludhiana Sandeep Kumar and DSP Headquarter Ropar Chand Singh with Chief Minister Rakshak Padak. Likewise, he also presented Chief Minister Medal for Outstanding Devotion to Duty to ACP (Traffic-1) Ludhiana City Gurdev Singh, DSP Intelligence Wing PAP Kamaljeet Kumar, Inspector Vigilance Bureau Patiala Range Pritpal Singh, Inspector Special Cell Intelligence Punjab Sukhjit Singh, Sub Inspector Harshjot Kaur from Barnala, Sub Inspector Bhupinder Singh of PPA Phillaur, Sub Inspector Harjit Singh from Fatehgarh Sahib, ASI Headquarter Vigilance Bureau SAS Nagar Kulbhushan Bagga, ASI Intelligence Wing Punjab Manpreet Singh, ASI Intelligence Wing Punjab Narinder Kumar and Constable Intelligence Wing Punjab Bikramjit Singh.

Amongst freedom fighters Swaran Singh and Gurdeep Singh were honoured. Similarly, four social workers including President Rotary Club Mohali Harjit Singh, Social Worker Paramdeep Singh Bhabat, Sarpanch Jaspreet Singh from Village Barsaalpur and Progressive floriculturist Guneet Kaur were honoured for their distinguished services.

Apart from these, an eminent theatre personality Harbaksh Singh Lata, Road Safety Engineer Charanjit, Math Mistress Jagjit Kaur, Senior Assistant Kuldeep Chand, Executive Engineer Water Supply and Sanitation Sahil Sharma, Khushpreet Singh, Senior Assistant Ritu Kapoor, District Forest Officer Guraman Preet Singh, Executive Engineer Public Health Kamal Kishore, Block Development and Panchayat Officer Derabassi Sukhchain Singh, Tehsildar Mohali Sukhpinder Kaur, Epidemiologist Dr. Harmandeep Kaur, Junior Assistant Ramandeep Singh, Patwari Bachitar Singh, Sub Inspector Satpal Singh, ASI Narpinder Pal Singh, ASI Sukhpal Singh, Constable Varinder Singh, Probationer Sub Inspector Ajitesh Kaushal, ASI Gurmeet Singh, Head Constable Karandeep Singh, Junior Assistant Sanjiv Kumar, Election Kanungo Surinder Kumar, Sunita Sharma, Executive Engineer PWD (B&R) Arshdeep Singh, Secretary Zila Parishad Ravinder Singh, DSM Anish Garg, SDO Mohit Nagpal, Deputy CEO District Employment and Business Bureau Manjesh Kumar, Raghbir Singh Sandhu and Madan Mittal were also honoured in recognition with their outstanding services in different walks of life.

Similarly, the Chief Minister also honoured Chahat Arora, Baljinder Singh and Jasnoor Kaur for their excellent performance in the field of sports besides Drug Abuse Prevention Officers (DAPO) Daljit Kaur, Rajinder Singh and Colonel Sajjan Parkash were honoured for their commendable services to check the menace of drug abuse.

The Chief Minister also presented mementos to Parade Commander DSP Gursher Singh Sandhu, Inspector CID PRTC Jahan Khelan Charanjit Singh besides Inspector Baaj Singh for preparation of the march past.

Amongst various contingents of schools, which participated in the march past, the Mai Bhago preparatory institute for Girls bagged the best contingent award.

As many as 10 tableaus from different departments/agencies depicted the overall development and various welfare schemes of the state government, amongst which the tableau of Employment Generation Department was adjudged as the best.
