13-year-old girl raped thrice in five days by three men

Date:

Sangrur, June 29: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped at different places in the town by at least three men with the help of three local women. The police have registered a case against the three women and unidentified persons.

As per information, the mother of the victim was a friend of accused Sona and the children of both used to stay at the houses of each other during vacations. On June 20, the mother of the victim left her at the house of Sona for some days.

But when she came back on June 24 to take her back, the girl was missing. The victim came back in the evening and alleged that she was raped by different persons in various areas of the town with the help of Sona and two other women.

“She disclosed to her mother that between June 20 and June 24, Sona along with two other women took her to different places of the town, where three to four persons raped her. Under pressure, initially the mother of victim did not lodge any complaint with us and took her daughter to her house in Ludhiana, but finally she lodged a complaint on June 27,” said Sub-Inspector Tarndeep Kaur.

The Sangrur police have registered a case against Sona, Gurjeet Kaur, Darshna and unidentified persons under Sections 376, 347,506 and 120-B of the IPC and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act-2012. “We are conducting raids to arrest the three women accused,” said SI Tarndeep Kaur.
