President’s Police Medal for Vigilance chief, AIG

Chandigarh, August 15: The Vigilance Bureau chief, ADGP BK Uppal, and Varinder Paul Singh, AIG, State Special Operations Cell, have been chosen for the President’s Police Medal for distinguish-ed service.

Besides, Sixteen police officers/officials, including Ranbir Singh Khattra, DIG (Administration), Indian Reserve Battalion, and Sandeep Kumar Sharma, Kapurthala SSP, will get the Police Medal for meritorious service.

A spokesperson for the Punjab Police said Gurinder Singh Grewal, AIG, Zonal, CID, Patiala; Inspectors Sukhmandar Singh, Paramveer Singh, Baldev Raj, Baljinder Singh, Rajnish Kumar, Satnam Singh and Amrit Saroop Dogra would be awarded the Police Medal for meritorious service.

Sub-Inspectors Kuljeet Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Manohar Lal, Mohinder Pal and Sukhjinder Singh and Assistant Sub-Inspectors Inderjit Kaur have also been chosen for the Police Medal for meritorious service.

The state government has announced the Chief Minister’s Medal for outstanding devotion to duty to five police officers/officials — Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Patiala, Harwinder Singh Virk; Shaminder Singh, Inspector, Counter Intelligence, SAS Nagar; Tejinder Singh, ASI, Commando Training Centre, Bahadurgarh, Patiala; ASI (LR) Pushpinder Singh; and Head Constable Sanjeev Kumar.
