2 youths throw acid on college girl in Amritsar

Amritsar, September 15: Two unidentified miscreants threw acid on a girl while she was returning from college at Thoba village on Friday. The victim was taken to a hospital from where she was referred to Amritsar after first aid.

The girl, a BEd student of Sri Guru Ram Dass College at Pandher village, sustained over 10 per cent burns below the neck. Her father said she used to call him after reaching Thoba, from where he used to pick her up. Today, he got late and she was walking towards the village around 3 pm when two youths (faces covered) on a motorcycle threw acid and fled.

SP Shailander Shelly and DSP Ajnala Harpreet Singh said efforts were on to apprehend the culprits.
