Chandigarh, May 6:
The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 225877 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 27th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 225877 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 225847 MT of wheat 30 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 52416 metric tonnes, MARKFED 57299 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 56833 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 34348 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 20242 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 4708.3 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 12543347.16 MT.
