Chandigarh, May 2: The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 248595 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 23rd day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 248595 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 248511 MT of wheat 84 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 59498 metric tonnes, MARKFED 64353 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 60305 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 33392 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 25669 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 5293 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 114,64267 MT.
