Chandigarh, May 5:
The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 249727 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 26th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 249727 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 249617 MT of wheat 110 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 54249 metric tonnes, MARKFED 64420 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 63646 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 35411 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 21617 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 10273.8 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 12317469.85 MT.
