33 nomination papers withdrawn on day 1

As per the program announced for Punjab Vidhan Sabha Election 2022, 33 persons today withdrew their nomination papers.

Informing in this regard, Chief Electoral Officer Punjab Dr. S. Karuna Raju said that 1645 nomination papers were found in order out of 2266 nomination papers which were received for 117 Assembly Constituencies of State. He further said that 588 nomination papers were rejected during scrutiny.

He informed that February 4, 2022 will be last day to withdraw the nomination papers.
