Terming ‘Mera Ghar, Mere Naam’ scheme as a revolutionary step towards empowering people by bestowing them proprietary rights of their houses within lal lakir, Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation, and Disaster Management Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary today informed that in the initial phase, this scheme has been launched in Gurdaspur, Rupnagar and Bathinda districts and a drone survey of 447 villages of these districts has been completed so far. She said that this scheme will be implemented further in all the districts of the state.

Mrs. Chaudhary said that a drone survey has been completed in 335 villages of district Gurdaspur and 57 property cards have been distributed to the property owners hitherto, while 4846 property cards are ready to deliver. Apart from this, drone survey of 59 villages of Sri Chamkaur Sahib tehsil of district Rupnagar and 53 villages of Rampura Phul tehsil of district Bathinda has been completed.

The Revenue Minister said that property cards of proprietary rights were being prepared and issued to the owners in the villages under the scheme to enable people to avail benefits of various schemes of the Punjab government on their properties within the ambit of Lal Lakir. ”State government has enacted ‘The Punjab Abadi Deh (Record of Rights) Act 2021’ to give statutory rights to this record”, she added. She further pointed out that under this scheme the actual ownership of the properties is determined in a proper manner by conducting a survey through drones.
