Five Indian envoys visit holy city, discuss investment

Amritsar, June 29: Under an ambitious plan initiated by the Ministry of External Affairs (MOEA), five Indian ambassadors of the Punjab origin posted in different countries visited the holy city on Thursday and evaluated investment, exchange and collaboration prospects between their home state and countries they are posted in.

The MOEA has directed its ambassadors to various nations to visit their respective states to work out synergy and potential of investment keeping in view their strength and find prospects of investment in the same from their respective countries.

The delegation comprised Navdeep Singh Suri, Ambassador of India to the UAE, Manjeev Singh Puri, Ambassador of India to Nepal, Sanjeev Arora, Ambassador of India to Lebanon, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Ambassador of India to Sri Lanka and Reenat Sandhu, Ambassador of India to Italy.

They held discussion on various issues, including education, agriculture, horticulture, tourism and environment and also issues related to the fake agents sending people illegally to these countries with officials of the state government. All of them, accompanied by their families, paid obeisance at the Golden Temple.
