Chandigarh, April 27:
The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 554055 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 18th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 554055 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 553939 MT of wheat 116 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 125679 metric tonnes, MARKFED 120553 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 138609 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 72482 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 68534 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 28082 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 9597359 MT.
