Chandigarh, April 30: The Government agencies and private traders have procured 601423 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 16th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 601423 procurement from various procurement centres in the state, the government agencies procured 599856 MT of wheat 1567 MT has been procured by private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 138817 metric tonnes, MARKFED 129440 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 123542 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 101923 MT wheat respectively.
The Centre government agency FCI has procured 72519 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 33615 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 7434497 MT.
