6.62 lakh MT wheat procured on 17th day

Chandigarh, May 1: The government agencies and private traders have 662331 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 17th day of procurement.

Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said out of the total 662331 from various centres in the State, the Government agencies 659583 MT of 2748 MT has been by the private traders (arhtyias).

He further  said that PUNGRAIN has 155748 metric tonnes, MARKFED 130734 metric tonnes and PUNSUP 135047 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 108343 MT wheat.

The Centre government agency FCI has procured 85998 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain procured 43713 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.

Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 8096828 MT.

He further said today 461700 LMT wheat lifted from the Mandis and payment of rupees 9278.29 cr. has been made for the procurement of wheat>.
