6-day-old male child kidnapped from Jalandhar railway station

Date:

Jalandhar, September 5: A six-day-old male child was allegedly kidnapped from the city railway station on Monday.

The incident took place when a Lucknow-based family, travelling in Katihar Express, got down at the city railway station. Kishan Lal, along with his wife and three sons including the six-day-old child, sat on a bench on a platform.

Since his wife Poonam was not feeling well, she kept her new-born son towards a side on the bench. However, she did not know when someone picked up the child and went away. Though the family tried to locate the child, it could not find him.

The GRP too failed to identify the kidnapper as none of the CCTV cameras on the railway station was found working. Soon after the incident, the condition of Poonam deteriorated and her husband had to call an ambulance to take her to the Civil Hospital. Meanwhile, the GRP has lodged a complaint and begun investigation into the matter.
