Yamunanagar, June 4: The blood-soaked body of the six-year-old daughter of an employee of Congress leader Nirmal Singh was found in a pit in this district on Sunday.
Her throat was slit and sexual assault is suspected. A case has been filed under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC and Section 6 of the POSCO Act.
The body was found near the minister’s farm in the mining zone of Khizrabad, where the victim’s father Magan Singh, who hails from Gumla in Jharkhand, works as a labourer. He has been living at the farm with his wife and children for six years.
He said his daughter, who went missing at 1 pm on Saturday, was last seen playing near the farm. Her body was found in a pit in the nearby mining zone at 2 pm on Sunday.
SHO Lajja Ram said the family had not pointed fingers at anyone.The body has been kept at the Civil Hospital mortuary. Nirmal Singh, expressing grief, said the culprit must be nabbed at the earliest.
