Chandigarh, April 20 :
The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 607958 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on eleventh day of precourment.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 607958 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 607404 MT of wheat 554 MT has been procured by the private traders(arhtias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 106095 metric tonnes, MARKFED 162680 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 142592 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 66154 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 65678 MT wheat.Apart from this Pungrain Procured 64205 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 5542280 MT.
