7 hurt in explosion at steel factory in Fatehgarh Sahib

Fatehgarh Sahib, April 7: Seven people were injured in an explosion at a steel factory in Fatehgarh Sahib district. The blast took place in a furnace at SS Steel plant situated near Chanalo village at Sirhind Bhadson road on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

However, the reasons behind the explosion are yet to be ascertained.

The injured were rushed to the civil hospital where doctors immediately discharged three of them after giving first aid. Four labourers including the one having face burn injuries were admitted to the hospital.

The injured have identified as Gurmeet Singh, Sukha, Jamel, Goldy, Nona, Vicky, and Jitendra. It is suspected that the labourers were not wearing safety kits.
