71 Lecturers of District Institute for Education and Training transferred

Date:

Chandigarh, 8 July

The Punjab Government has transferred 71 Lecturers in the District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) for the smooth functioning of the education of the students.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the school education department said that these orders have been signed by the school education secretary Mr. Krishan Kumar after the approval of the school education minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla.

According to the spokesperson, the decision has been taken in the public interest and to rationalize the deployment of staff. Prior to this, many district institutes for education and training had more than one lecturer in one subject and many others did not have single lecturer in that subject. Therefore, the school education department in November 2019, through a public notice, called for applications from those who were interested to be posted in DIET. Following the selection of suitable candidates, 43 lecturers have been posted from schools to DIETs  while 28 lecturers have been shifted from DIETs  to schools.
