AAP will contest elections on its own: Raghav Chadha

Date:

Chandigarh, July 26

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab affairs co-incharge and national spokesperson Raghav Chadha on Monday made it clear in the presence of party’s state president and Lok Sabha member Bhagwant Mann that the party would contest the 2022 assembly elections on its own and will form a government on its own. Raghav Chadha was interacting with the media here at the Press Club after Congress leader Gurmeet Singh Khudian joined the AAP.

Replying to a question on the election pact of AAP with other parties, Raghav Chadha said, “Today, we make it clear, once and for all, that the Aam Aadmi Party will fight the 2022 elections on its own. We will not form an alliance with any party. It will field its candidates in all the 117 Assembly constituencies.”

Responding to another question, Raghav Chadha said that all the good people of other parties who want prosperity of Punjab; all such people and leaders are warmly welcomed in the Aam Aadmi Party.

On this occasion, Bhagwant Mann said that people of the state were grieved from the mafia rule of the Badals, and now they were more infuriated from the Congress mafia government. “That is why the people see the Aam Aadmi Party as a hope and have made up their minds to hand over the responsibility of government,” he added.

Replying to a question, Bhagwant Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party was seriously opposing the anti-agriculture laws from the streets to the Parliament and the Legislative Assembly. He said that he had reached Chandigarh by air today (Monday) after protesting inside and outside Parliament and would return to Delhi in the evening and would not allow Parliament to function till the Union Government repealed the anti-farmer and anti-agriculture laws.

Replying to another question, Bhagwant Mann said that Congress was not playing a united and hopeful role against agriculture laws in Parliament. Describing the Modi government as extremely arrogant, Mann said that another Electricity Amendment Bill, 2021, was going to rob the states of their rights and deprive them of power subsidy to farmers along with other sections. “AAP is also vehemently opposing it,” he added. He was accompanied by MLAs Meet Hayer, Prof Baljinder Kaur and party’s state general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat.
