The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab will gherao the Punjab BJP office in Chandigarh on Sunday, August 29, to protest against the increasing incidents of attacks and abuse of women in Punjab and across the country. Disclosing this here on Friday, AAP’s Women Wing, Punjab president Rajwinder Kaur said the incidents of assault and abuse of women by the BJP goons reflects the anti-woman mentality of the BJP leaders.
She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP leaders were fooling the people of the country by giving the slogan of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, as the BJP goons were at the forefront in attacking and abusing women. The AAP leader said the entire society should be aware of the BJP mentality of fighting among itself and deliberately targeting women. She said the women’s wing of the AAP Punjab would stage a protest in front of the Punjab BJP headquarters on Sunday to awaken the dead conscience of the BJP and create awareness in the society.
Rajwinder Kaur said that Punjab BJP President and former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur was silent on the issue of attacks on women by the BJP goons. Questioning the silence of the Punjab Women’s Commission, she asked why the commission did not take suo moto notice of the attacks on women by the BJP goons.
