Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday gave a clarion call to the legal fraternity to play a pivotal role in well being of the society by according top priority for ensuring justice to the weaker and underprivileged sections.
The Chief Minister, while chairing a function to launch the online facility for services of Bar Council and distribute licenses to new Advocates here today, said that in the larger public interests, the young Advocates must discharge their responsibility with utmost professional commitment, dedication and sincerity. He said that the lawyers who render their services in a committed manner not only carve a niche for themselves in this field but also bring smile on faces of others by securing justice for them through courts. Bhagwant Mann categorically said that the state government is according top priority to impart quality health services and education to people along with ensuring justice to them, for which various steps are being taken.
The Chief Minister unequivocally said that a person does not rise overnight as hard work and sincerity is the only key to success. He expressed hope that the new lawyers who were going to start practice now, will make concerted efforts to secure justice to common man. Bhagwant Mann said that as the new bureaucrats who start the service after clearing UPSC or PPSC exam start their careers from district level offices and Police stations, in the same manner the budding advocates should also acquire perfectionism initially by working with the legal luminaries already working in the field.
Responding to various issues raised by the Bar council, the Chief Minister assured them to look into their demands sympathetically.
On the occasion Advocate General Punjab Vinod Ghai, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, Chairman Punjab and Haryana Bar Council Survir Sidhu and others were also present.
