Chandigarh/Sunam Udham Singh Wala, May 30:
Cabinet Minister Mr Aman Arora today felicitated as many as 300 students, including five meritorious students, of government schools of Sunam assembly constituency for excelling board exams. These students have excelled in the examinations of the fifth, eighth, matriculation and senior secondary level exams.
While addressing the students, teachers and parents of students at the auditorium of Shaheed Udham Singh Government College Sunam, Mr Aman Arora said that government school’s students have set an example by bringing laurels with their hard work, perseverance and determination and it was also a matter of inspiration for others too. It is pertinent to mention that for the first time such a large number of students have been honoured at an assembly constituency level platform.
Mr Aman Arora said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government has continuously been taking steps in the direction of imparting world-class educational facilities in the government schools of the state and it has set a target to make government schools better than private schools in all aspects. He said that the number of students taking admission in government schools has increased significantly this year.
During the ceremony, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora awarded a cash reward of Rs 5100, trophies and merit certificates each to the five meritorious students and appreciation certificates to remaining students of 5th, 8th, 10th and 12th standard of government schools in the district.
It is worth mentioning that Khushi Gupta and Malkeet Kaur were merit holders of 8th class, Nimandeep Kaur and Lovelysh of matriculation and Simarjit Kaur was a meritorious student of senior secondary examinations.
Mr Aman Arora said that all the students are talented, and the Punjab government was committed to provide a constructive educational environment to the students. He also said that the Mann government was prioritizing multifaceted development in the field of education so that these uncut diamonds studying in government schools, so they can be polished to realize their golden dreams in the future.
Taking memorable pictures with the talented children, the Cabinet Minister said that there were limitless golden opportunities in life and students can become capable of converting these opportunities into success by following the path of hard work.
On this occasion, District Education Officer Secondary Sanjeev Kumar welcomed and thanked Cabinet Minister Aman Arora for the efforts being made to raise the level of school education.
