Amritsar MP Aujla lobbies for starting direct Amritsar-London flight

Amritsar, April 26, 2018: Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla has initiated a campaign to urge Indian and the UK governments to launch direct flight between Amritsar and London.

In London for the purpose, Aujla held meetings with Punjabi-origin Members of Parliament, Opposition leaders, non government organizations and leaders of Gurdwara management committees in the UK to initiate a joint campaign.

In a statement, Aulja claimed to have received support for his campaign from UK Punjabi MPs Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi, Preet Gill and the Opposition leader. They assured to support this long pending demand.

Aujla said that the a large number of Punjabi live in the UK and everybody has the desire to visit and pay obeisance at Harmandir Sahib. He demanded that governments of both countries should giv nod for this direct Amritsar-London flight without any delay.

Other present at the meeting included Sameep Singh Gumtala of Amritsar Vikas Manch, Charan Sekhon of Sewa Trust UK, Gurdwara Singh Sabha and Guru Ravidas Gurdwara Management Committee president Gurmail Singh Malhi, BJP’s Haryana Chapter Youth Overseas president Vikramjit Singh and prominent personalities of the UK and India.
