Applications invited for mahila shakti award ; apply online till oct 31: Dr Baljit Kaur

The Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Government of India has invited applications for Mahila Shakti Puraskar, 2022 from the eligible women of the state till 31 October 2022.

Giving information in this regard, the Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development said that women, who are making an excellent contribution to the cause of women empowerment and the development of women in the society, are to be honored with Mahila Shakti Puraskar by the Government of India. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, a certificate and a memento. Dr. Baljit Kaur appealed to the eligible women to apply online for this award on www.awards.gov.in portal.

The minister also informed that these awards will be given to 15 women on March 8, 2023. She said that only individual can apply for this award, the age of the applicant should be at least 25 years; she has not received this award (including female power) before.

Dr. Baljit Kaur gave further information and said that Mahila Shakti Puraskar is given to women working in the fields of economic and social empowerment for good work, preferably in exceptional circumstances. Nominations/Applications women or related to this theme can be applied online only at www.awards.gov.in portal. She also informed that these applications will be accepted online only.

The Cabinet Minister said that nominations/applications can be applied online till October 31, 2022 by downloading from the website of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs http://www.wcd.nic.in for receiving this award.
