Chandigarh, March 18:
Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that to keep Malerkotla clean and pollution free, the Punjab government has decided to purchase 23 numbers (garbage hopper tipper) primary collective vehicles at a cost of about Rs 1.71 crore.
Minister for Local Government, Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is making all possible efforts to provide basic facilities, clean and pollution free environment to the people of the state. Under this series, various development works are being conducted to make the state garbage free.
The Cabinet Minister further informed that the Local Government Department has started the necessary process in this regard. He also said that providing a clean and pollution-free environment to the people of the state is the main objective of the Punjab government so that people can be protected from serious diseases spread by pollution.
Cabinet Minister, Dr Nijjar further said that the Punjab government is fully committed to provide corruption free administration to the people of the state, if any official caught committing corruption, he will not be spared.
He directed the officials to ensure transparency and quality in the works of the department.
