Arjuna awardee Sajjan Singh rejoins AAP

World renowned basketball player and Arjuna awardee Sajjan Singh rejoined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at the party headquarters here on Monday. AAP state president and MP Bhagwant Mann and Punjab affairs in-charge Jarnail Singh welcomed Sajjan Singh to the party. Bhagwant Mann said that every section of Punjab was joining the Aam Aadmi Party as it was a people’s party aimed at serving the people of the country. He said that sportspersons, artists and social workers were warmly welcomed in the party and a large number of sportspersons and artists from Punjab were joining the AAP’s family.

Party’s general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat said that Sajjan Singh has enhanced the pride of the country through the game of basketball. He said that Sajjan Singh has been honored with the Arjuna Award by the Government of India and the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award by the Government of Punjab and he had also served in the Punjab Police.

On the occasion, Sajjan Singh said that he was proud to join the Aam Aadmi Party as it was the party of the common man. The Arjuna awardee said that he was influenced by the pro-people policies of the AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi and decided to return to the party. Sajjan Singh said that people of Punjab wanted to bring change in politics and only the Aam Aadmi Party was capable of bringing a real change in the politics. He said that whatever responsibility would be given to him, he would work diligently to strengthen the party.
