Chandigarh, May 4: The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 389478 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 20th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 389478 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 387688 MT of wheat 1790 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtyias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 80503 metric tonnes, MARKFED 85055 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 73357 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 72028 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 50113 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 26632 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 9560052 MT.
