Aruna Chaudhary directs to close all Anganwadi Centres till June 30

Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary instructed to further close all Anganwadi Centres of the state till June 30.

Mrs. Chaudhary termed the decision as safety measure for children in wake of the Covid pandemic, and said that ration and other materials to children and other beneficiaries will continually be distributed door to door through Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers, so that nutritional support to our beneficiaries can’t be affected. She also instructed to strictly follow all health protocols such as wearing of masks, washing hands and maintaining social distancing during the ration distribution.

The Cabinet Minister said that efforts are on war footing to save little ones from the jaws of this deadly virus. She also appealed to Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers to aware people about the precautionary measures. She said that in these days Anganwadi Centres had been closed for children but the Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers were being attended the centres. Now onwards these centres will be closed for staff too till June 30.

Mrs. Chaudhary said that the Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers be ready to take any responsibility assigned by the department and concerned district administration to contain spreading of COVID virus.
