As SC raises questions over vaccination policy, Centre says all eligible to get dose by year-end

Date:

New Delhi, May 31

The entire eligible population will be vaccinated by 2021-end, the Centre on Monday told the Supreme Court after the top court questioned the “vaccination policy”.

The Supreme Court has questioned the Centre on mandatory registration on CoWIN app for Covid vaccination. It said people in rural areas may face difficulties.

“The Centre is in talks with firms like Pfizer and if it succeeds, timeline of completing vaccination by year-end will change,” the Solicitor General told the SC.

About mandatory registration on CoWIN app, the SC said policy makers must have ears on the ground as there is a digital divide.

The Centre must see what’s happening across the country and change its policy accordingly, the SC said on mandatory registration on CoWIN app.
