Ashu suspends four food inspectors for non disbursements wheat under National Food Security Act

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Punjab Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu today suspended four Food Inspectors posted at Sultanpur Lodhi for not disbursing wheat to eligible beneficiaries under National Food Security Act.

Divulging more details, the Minister said that after initial probe four food inspectors Vivek Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Vikas Sethi and Rajeshwar Singh have been suspended with immediate effect. He said that regular complaints were pouring in against these four inspectors. Mr Ashu said that further enquiry into the matter has been entrusted to Deputy Director Patiala Division.

The Minister said that the enquiry officer has been asked to submit report within a fortnight. He reiterated that any sort of corrupt practice would not be tolerated in the department. Mr Ashu said that any officer who would loot the wheat meant for poorest of poor would be brought to book.
