Chandigarh, November 18:
In order to bring further improvement in the priority education sector, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government has directed to improve the formation of district education assessment and reforms teams.
School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that state government has prioritised the education sector, thus these teams have been formed so as to ensure the advancement in all the schools located in all the districts of the state.
“To make this process more transparent and better, now each district will send a proposal of the names of three members instead of one member to constitute this team”, said the Cabinet Minister, adding that apart from this, the deputy district education officer or principal will also be included as in-charge of this committee. One eligible member will be selected from the three names proposed by the district office, he added.
Harjot Singh Bains further said that two teams should be formed in those districts wherein the number of government schools is 1000 or more.
