Bhangra, Giddha performances by Punjabi folk artists add colour
Chandigarh, April 13: The Consulate General of India, Frankfurt, Germany, organized an event to commemorate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji and to celebrate the harvest festival of Baisakhi on 12 April in Frankfurt.
The event was organised in collaboration with the members of Indian community living in Germany. As part of the celebration, religious songs were sung by the local singers as a mark of devotion to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.
On the occasion, the Consul General Ms. Pratibha Parkar in her address extended her whole hearted greetings to the Indian community and said that the Indian community has made a mark all over the world through its dedication and hard working nature.
The celebration attended by over 600 persons from the Indian community reached its zenith with outstanding presentation of renowned Punjabi folk dance Bhangra, Giddha as well as Punjabi folk music performances by the local Indian artists.
The program rounded off with the ‘Guru ka Langar’ for all the devotees.
