Balbir Sidhu directs Civil Surgeon, Moga to submit report in Pregnant woman death case

Taking serious notice of media reports in which a Pregnant woman died in Moga due to allegedly delayed surgery at the Civil Hospital Moga, the Health Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu on Wednesday directed Dr. Amarpreet Kaur Bajwa Civil Surgeon, Moga to submit a report in two days regarding the case.

Giving details in a press statement, Health Minister said that he has issued instructions to all the Civil Surgeons that no laxity will be tolerated regarding the Mother and Child Healthcare services. He assured that strict action would be taken on the behalf of the report if anyone found dereliction in duty.

Mr. Sidhu also instructed Director Family Welfare Dr. Andesh Kang to ensure that quality health services at the MCHs and conduct surprise checking of Government Hospitals. He said that Punjab Government has set the aim to reduce the Mother Mortality Ratio of State and committed to secure the lives of pregnant women and newborn children.
