The Health & Family Welfare Minster Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu today inaugurated three newly constructed Mai Daultan Mother & Child Healthcare (MCH) Hospitals at Tarntaran, Bham & Fatehfarh Churian. Equipped with the all modern facilities, these hospitals have been constructed to provide the quality healthcare services to mothers and newborn children near to their residences.
Disclosing this here today, Mr. Sidhu said that in addition to the several initiatives taken to slowdown the spread of COVID-19, the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government was continuously working on the war footing to further strengthening the health infrastructure across the State. He said that the construction of 26 Mai Daultan MCH Hospitals have already been completed out of total 37 Hospitals, while remaining 11 hospitals would be completed within a year. He said that to mark 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Punjab Government decided to name MCH Hospitals setting up in the state after the name of Mai Daultan, who took care of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at the time of his birth.
The Health Minister said that construction of 11 Mai Daultan MCH hospitals is in progress and would be come at a cost of around Rs.73.00 Crores which were being set up at Sangrur, Nakodar, Moga, Fatehgarh Sahib, Goniana, Malout, Giddarbaha, Phagwara, Kharar, Budhlada & Jagraon.
Mr. Sidhu further said that now under Mission Fateh to defeat Corona virus, the war is being fought on a large scale. He appealed to the people to take precautionary measures for the success of Mission Fateh and also educating others about wearing masks, washing hands, downloading COVA app and maintaining social distance.
