Benefits for subsidiary health centres approved

Chandigarh, August 30: The Punjab Cabinet on Thursday accorded its approval to the extension of the contract period and enhancement of contract amount for Pharmacists and Sweeper-cum-Attendants engaged (as a stop gap measure) as service providers by the Zila Parishads to run the subsidiary health centers.

According to a spokesperson the Chief Minister Office, the Cabinet that met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister has also increased consolidated rates of services to Rs. 9000 consolidated for pharmacists and Rs. 4500 for attendant cum sweepers as service providers, from the existing Rs. 8000 and Rs. 4000.

The pharmacists and sweeper-cum-attendants had been demanding increase in the contract amount for providing the services.

The Cabinet has provided extension from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019 or till the date of regular recruitment whichever happens earlier.

This decision would help the department run 1186 subsidiary health centers under Zila Parishads in a smooth manner.
