Chandigarh, March 19 ( ) : State President of Mahila Kisan Union Bibi Rajwinder Kaur Raju told the newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann that phone calls or announcements couldn’t end corruption from the state and the state will not develop but, the state government will have to take concrete decisions to bring about major reforms for the ‘revolution’ being promoted by the AAP party.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Mahila Kisan Union president Bibi Rajwinder Kaur Raju informed that the previous governments had also made big announcements to eradicate corruption and Punjab Vigilance Bureau had launched a toll free landline number, a mobile number and an email was also made available to the general public for sending online complaints besides sending audio or video messages, adding she said this facility is still in operation where the name of every complainant is also kept confidential but still menace of corruption and bribery prevails in the state.
Seeking the immediate implementation of the guarantees and promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party during the elections and the promises made to the farmers, bibi Rajwinder Kaur Raju said the AAP has came to power with the guarantee of change. Hence the Punjabis and the Diaspora have high expectations from the government so the dispensation should not try to ‘cook food with saliva’ but show practical performance to the people.
The woman farmer leader cautioned the CM that he should not resort to make only proclamations like former Congress CM Charanjit Singh Channi but instead of revolutionary slogans, jokes or false announcements the present dispensation must have to work to improve the state fiscal situation, eliminate unemployment, complete eradication of drugs, take immediate action against desecration of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, curb corruption and implement all guarantees given by the party by eliminating all kinds of mafia rule from sand mining, liquor business, cable transmission, illegal transport etc.
Bibi Raju said the AAP party must fulfill all the promises made to the farmers immediately and provide relief besides employment to the dependents of all the deceased farmers who were martyred during the Kisan Andolan. In addition to this the CM must compensate the farmers who’s crops get destroyed due to natural calamities in the recent times.
