BJP youth leader held for running hookah bar

Abohar, May 29: The police raided a restaurant, “Ruttba”, reportedly owned by BJP Yuva Morcha city vice-president Bhanu Pratap Munjal on the Abohar-Malout stretch of the highway on Sunday and found that a hookah bar was being run on its premises.

Official sources said on a tip-off, Balluana Deputy Superintendent of Police Rahul Bhardwaj led the raid.

Besides the hookah bar that has been banned by the district magistrate, an unlicensed bar was also found operational there.

A case has been registered under Section 188 of the IPC and the Excise Act. Bhanu and his manager Subhash Kashyap were arrested, but later released on bail. Sub-Inspector Jasvir Singh has been tasked to conduct further investigation.
