Brahm Mohindra condemns attack on Narang

Date:

CHANDIGARH, March 27:

Punjab Minister for Local Bodies and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Brahm Mohindra today strongly condemned the attack on the Abohar MLA Arun Narang in Malout.

“This is a shameful and highly condemnable act when an elected representative of people was publicly beaten up”, the Minister said in a statement here today. He said, those involved in the act will be firmly dealt with as the Punjab government will not allow anyone to resort to such acts of violence.

Mr. Mohindra said, while the farmers have a right to protest, such incidents only bring bad name to the movement, which otherwise has been completely peaceful. He appealed to the farmers’ organisations and leaders to dissociate from such elements who are resorting to violence and bringing a bad name to the movement.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister said, the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had already taken strong note of the incident and issued instructions to the DGP to identify the culprits and bring them to book.
