Brampton man charged for alleged sexual assault

Peel police have arrested and charged a Brampton man following an alleged sexual assault.

In a media release, police said Bassam Hanafi, 77, was charged following an alleged sexual assault of a 25-year-old woman at a massage clinic in Brampton.

The alleged assault happened on Feb. 9 at a clinic in the area of McLaughlin Road and Queen Street in Brampton and the woman involved did not sustain physical injuries, police said.

Police said the woman was getting a massage during the alleged assault, and investigators believe there could be more victims.

Hanafi was arrested on Feb. 14 and held for a Feb. 15 bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
