Brampton, February 26: Environment Canada has put Peel region under a Special Weather Statement.
The national weather agency says a “messy mix of wintry precipitation” as well as strong winds are expected Monday into Monday night (Feb. 27).
For Mississauga and Brampton, precipitation will likely begin as snow Monday afternoon or early Monday evening before transitioning to ice pellets or freezing rain Monday night, the weather statement reads.
Untreated surfaces may become icy and slippery, Environment Canada said. The Monday evening commute may be “significantly impacted,” according to the statement.
For Caledon, precipitation will likely begin as a period of snow or ice pellets Monday afternoon before transitioning to a period of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle Monday night, Environment Canada said.
