“The Chinguacousy Wellness Centre is incredibly popular. We had over 635,000 patrons come through the doors in 2019,” said Mayor Patrick Brown during the project announcement on Feb. 9. The popular recreation centre in Brampton will receive several upgrades through a joint partnership between the city and federal and provincial governments.
All levels of government are contributing funding for the project, with the Doug Ford PC provincial government providing $476,619, the Justin Trudeau-led federal Liberal government contributing $572,000 and the city providing $381,381 for a total of $1.43 million for the project.
