Chandigarh, February 18: With the policing in Punjab facing more challenges in form of terror attacks and agitations, the state Budget 2019-20 has allocated additional Rs 573 crore for the Punjab Police.
Against Rs 5,717 crore allocated last year, the police have got Rs 6,290 crore this year.
The Chief Minister’s favourite Special Task Force (STF) against drugs has seen a major cut. The revised estimates of the 2018-19 Budget had pegged the STF expenditure at Rs 2.01 crore. This year the allocation is Rs 1.37 crore.
