Chandigarh, March 22:
Newly appointed Cabinet Minister of Punjab Dr. Vijay Kumar today assumed the charge at the Punjab Civil Secretariat.
On this occassion, apart from Dr. Vijay Kumar’s family members, MLA Principal Budh Ram, Aman Arora, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Gurpreet Singh Banawali, Jagdeep Kamboj, Kulwant Singh Pandori, Balkar Singh Sidhu, Gurdit Singh Sekhon, Narinder Pal Singh Savna and Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Raj Kamal Chaudhary, Principal Secretary Medical Education and Research Alok Shekhar, Amit Kumar IAS, Kumar Rahul IAS, Bhupinder Singh IAS and other senior officers of the departments were present.
After assuming office, Dr. Vijay Kumar said that the Punjab Government led by Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to provide quality healthcare services to the people of the state.
He said that previous governments had never adopted a constructive policy for the betterment of the most important department of the state.
He sought the full cooperation of the officers and staff of the Health and Family Welfare Department and the Medical Education and Research Department to strengthen the helath infrastructure in the state He also said that all of us should work together to make the health services of the state number one in the country.
He said that it was the aim of our government to implement a policy to provide affordable and quality education to the students of medical education in the state.
He also appealed to the doctors and paramedics to perform their duties honestly without any fear.
