Capt Amarinder congratulates people for celebrating festival of democracy

Chandigarh, February 20: Former Chief Minister and President Punjab Lok Congress Capt Amarinder Singh today congratulated people of Punjab for the peaceful conduct of elections in the state.

“I congratulate all Punjabis for celebrating the festival of democracy that comes once in five years, peacefully and with lot of enthusiasm”, he said in a statement here today.

Capt Amarinder expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Punjab Lok Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal-Sanyukt will win a comfortable majority and form the next government in the state.

“While we will have to wait till March 10, I am confident that the people of Punjab have today decided to form the Double-Engine government in Punjab, which is the need of the hour and in the interest of the security and prosperity of the state”, he added.
