Caught on CCTV: Thieves strike at house in Ludhiana’s Ranjit Nagar; loot gold worth over Rs 20 lakh

Around five to six masked men barged in a house in Ranjit Nagar here on Saturday night and stole gold worth over Rs 20 lakh.

Kanwalpreet Singh, the owner of the house, informed the police on Sunday morning about the theft.

According to the CCTV footage, the incident took place at around 3 am on Sunday.

SHO Madhu Bala said according to Singh, gold worth over Rs 20 lakh was stolen while his entire family was sleeping inside the house. In the CCTV footage, the accused can be seen jumping over the main gate to enter the house. They stayed for about 15-20 minutes before leaving the house.

The police have reached the spot and are recording statements.
