Graded autonomy, single regulatory body for higher education, and increase in public spending up to 6 per cent on education were some of the features in the National Education Policy 2020
“Union cabinet has cleared the National Education Policy 2020 to meet the demands of 21st century,” Information and Broadcast Minister Prakash Javadekar said.
The last education policy was adopted in 1992, just before India witnessed the Internet revolution. The document, therefore, did not factor in technology in the advancement of India’s national education goals.
