CEO Punjab apprises Political Parties about allotment of time on Public Broadcasting System for campaigning

Chandigarh, January 31: Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Dr S Karuna Raju on Monday held a meeting with representatives of the recognized political parties to sensitize them about the allotment of time for electioneering on the public broadcasting system.

The CEO, who was accompanied by Additional Chief Electoral Officer B Srinivasan disclosed that the commission had allotted time for publicity through the public broadcasting system to state and national political parties. As per the allotted time, these parties can campaign on All India Radio and Doordarshan Kendras, he said adding that political parties namely Aam Aadmi Party had been given 315 minutes each for publicity through Doordarshan and All India Radio, SAD have been alloted 330 minutes each.

Similarly, 91 minutes each of both the mediums have been given to AITC, 104 minutes each to BSP, 141 minutes each to BJP, 92 minutes each to CPI, 91 minutes each to CPI (M), 456 minutes each to Indian National Congress, 90 minutes each to NCP and 90 minutes each to NPP.

Meanwhile, the meeting was attended by representatives of various recognised parties.
