#ChandigarhStalking: Barala, friend arrested; kidnap charges added to FIR

Date:

Chandigarh, August 9: Chandigarh stalking accused Vikas Barala, who had reportedly refused to accept the summons issued by the police to join the probe, reached the police station today and was immediately arrested.

Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish, who were accused of chasing Varnika Kundu, were arrested after Sections 365 and 511 were added to the FIR.

IPC Section 365 deals with “kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person”, while IPC Section 511 is related to “punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment”.

The Chandigarh Police was earlier accused of dropping these two serious charges in the FIR, following which Vikas Barala and his friend were let out on bail without being produced in the court.
